Guided Bush Walks at Peace Be Still

1324 Chittering Road, Lower Chittering

Peace Be Still, which is owned by Wendy Gellard, is a beautiful 127-hectare property lying between the Brockman and Avon Rivers in the Lower Chittering Valley 13 kilometres from Bullsbrook along Chittering Road. The undulating, lightly-wooded, country provides a number of walks of different lengths and degrees of difficulty; none too hard but all starting with an uphill stretch – this is, after all, a valley.

For Flavours of Chittering Wendy has chosen a walk she calls “Over The Hill” which starts at the guest house and takes in a mixture of farm- and bush-land of outstanding beauty and stunning vistas. During the walks, which take about an hour, Wendy will explain the geological history of the area and its ecology.

Harry Butler, the eminent naturalist, has devised a series of plaques, placed
strategically along the walk, identifying interesting plants.

Walks start at 10.00 and 12.00.

$7.50 per person per walk.

Phone Wendy on 9571 8108 to reserve your place on a walk.

You will need stout walking shoes.

Also at Peace Be Still there is an intriguing labyrinth, or maze, made of 4,000 stubbies set into the ground, which takes about 20 minutes to solve. Visitors who have walked the labyrinth report that they experience inner peace and heightened awareness. After the walk you may wish to visit The Hub at the nearby Village Green in Chittering Valley Road where you will get directions to whichever of the wineries you choose to head out to for lunch.

Wendy is donating the proceeds from the Guided Bush Walks back into the Flavours of Chittering and our Progress Association.
