Driving Routes
Getting to the event is an easy enjoyable drive from anywhere in Perth to the some of the best rural landscape scenery in proximity to Perth displaying verdant fields, emerging widflowers and rolling hills. Take any of the following scenic routes and enjoy a leisurely drive to the Chittering Event Hub on Lower Chittering Road and the participating wineries.
Route 1.
Take Great Northern Hwy to Bullsbrook then turn right onto Chittering Road and wind 17kms through the picturesque Chittering Valley to Lower Chittering Road and the Event Hub.
Route 2.
Take Mitchell Freeway north to Neaves Road then wind through the semi rural areas of the metropolitan area East to Bullsbrook and Chittering Road then 17kms to Lower Chittering Road and the Event Hub.
Route 3.
Travel north to Gingin Brook Road connecting the Wanneroo-Lancelin Road to Brand Highway and Gingin. This route will allow you to enjoy the sandplain country of Western Australia with its unique flora and topography and enter the Valley from the Gingin region then travel south to the Event Hub on Lower Chittering Road.
From any of these routes it is easy to find the centrally located Event Hub and enjoy stopovers at the seven participating wineries from Jylland Vineyard and Riseborough Estate in the north, Briery Estate in the East to Stringybark Winery and Restaurant, Western Range, Hartley Estate and Kyotomunga Estate, adjacent to the Event Hub
From anywhere in the Valley it is only a short drive to Bindoon - the commercial and tourist centre of the Chittering Valley region. Here, in this beautiful old Western Australian town, you can enjoy the old and the new with the best of the Valley's crafts, fine foods and history readily available for sightseeing and enjoyment. Stay a while and enjoy a lunch or afternoon tea and learn of the rich history of the area and its surroundings. Or, if you have the time, stay overnight and enjoy a wonderful dinner and an even better opportunity to explore the region. If you decide to push on and explore further afield why not take the scenic drive to historic Toodyay another of Western Australia's early settlements situated on the banks of the Avon River. From there back to Perth through Gidgegannup is an easy drive through rolling hills and charming countryside.
The Willie Wagtail is the symbol of Chittering – so named by early Aboriginals who called it the Chitta Chitta bird. Chittering is just a stone’s throw from Bindoon, Gingin, New Norcia, Bullsbrook, Muchea, Toodyay, Guilderton, Moora and Perth. The area offers abundant local flora and local attractions including beautiful rolling hills, citrus orchards, vineyards, olive groves, organic vegetable farms, boutique wineries with cellar doors, local producers offering preserves and farm products and local restaurants serving the season’s best regional food. If you are lucky you may even see the rare and endangered Sun Star Orchid.
